The 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) kicks off tomorrow in Las Vegas, the market-leading drone manufacturer DJI are expected to announce an impressive new accessory/product for the DJI Mavic drone range.
As one of the biggest electronics shows held globally, CES is an opportunity for manufacturers and retailers to show off their latest innovations. DJI generally take the opportunity to introduce additional products to their range and this years show will be no exception.
Rumours and speculation suggest that the Phantom 5 as well as a ‘Pro’ or ‘Smart Controller’ for the DJI Mavic series may be introduced. The Phantom 5 will not appear so early in the year, we are however confident that the new Smart Controller accessory will be revealed.
The rumoured ‘Smart Controller’ incorporates an integrated full-colour screen which removes the need to utilise a smart device when wishing to fly the drone. This is time-saving and more efficient for operators.
DJI has accidentally released photos of this new controller during the past 6 months, as follows:
The success of failure of this new accessory will be driven by its price. An inbuilt screen is a time-saver indeed but all operators have a smart-phone and so the need for this accessory may be slim.
