Back in late 2016, a black Phantom 4 appeared on the shelves at BestBuy as well as on their website, but DJI did not formally announce the model, nor did they offer it for sale via their own website store.
The Phantom 4 Professional was launched during an exclusive DJI event, placed at the top of the consumer-grade drone range with superior camera, multiple sensors and redundant IMU configuration.
We have no detail at this time of any other enhancements incorporated within the black edition package, but Phantom owners have for many years been ‘customising’ their drones with vinyl, PVC and stickers and so this new model may excite fans. Some example skins for the Phantom 4 are shown below.
This story follows the leak of the new DJI Mavic Platinum model which is also due to be announced at the event, DJI predictions by DroningON are generally accurate, watch this space.
